Our Mission
As your locally owned and operated wireless internet service provider (WISP), our mission is to serve Northwest Colorado with the most reliable and affordable internet, WiFi, and Phone services, with the responsiveness of a dedicated local team. We believe our wireless internet network will never be finished, so our many antenna sites around Routt and Moffat counties are continually being upgraded to deliver a premier internet experience throughout the Yampa Valley.
Our History
ZIRKEL Wireless was conceived in the fall of 2000 when we grew frustrated at efforts to obtain high-speed internet service in Steamboat Springs. As the initial network and business plan were being developed, we sought a name that would capture the essence of our new business venture. We ultimately chose the name ZIRKEL Wireless after the Mt. Zirkel Wilderness Area, one of our favorite places.
Once the company was named, we quickly built our high-speed digital network and launched our service in the fall of 2001. Since then, we’re proud to have 'grown up' in the Yampa Valley, delivering reliable and affordable service to over 1800 square miles in Northwest Colorado. The demand for our affordable internet service has increased and we have grown in subscribers, capabilities, and coverage area, for which we are always grateful.
With over 27 antenna sites, ZIRKEL Wireless has the largest broadband coverage area in Northwest Colorado. Every year we preemptively increase our tower and network capacity to ensure we meet the speed and bandwidth demands of our customers. Our wireless internet network will never be complete!
